New Anthology Story For Forged Truth Author

A new anthology of short stories just dropped through the letter box at Forged Truth Publishing. The ‘Leicester Writes Short Story Prize Anthology 2024’ includes a piece of historical fiction from our author David N. Martin. We were just blown away by the cover, which is very pretty, so we decided to show you a sneak peak (see picture).

Inside, David’s short story, ‘An Unrecoverable Youth’ is set at the end of World War I, as is his forthcoming novel ‘The Typewriterists’. When asked about the success, he commented, “An old mentor of mine once said never use a good bit of research only once, so yes, ‘An Unrecoverable Youth’ has both the same time period and the same themes of trauma and long term recovery as The Typewriterists.”

Publication comes as another in a series of recent successes. David’s novels have been either short or long listed this year for the Historical Novel Society’s First Chapters Award and in a similar competition run by the Fiction Factory. Last year, he carried off the Regional Award in Aurora Prize for Fiction.
