Today, I have a new theory about plot. Succinctly stated, it goes like this:
There are only three questions that can hook the reader: what’s happened, what’s happening and what’s going to happen next?
It goes along with a new theory of what questions engage readers with character:
who are they, why are they like that, and what are they going to do next?

I think it is simple but effective. They are without doubt the three questions needed by any writer.
